“Controversy Over Biblical Chronology”

November 15, 2018

Being outside of time and space, ironic that God would allow controversy over biblical chronology. Maybe it is to test our faith in God’s spiritual realm, over the written word. The Bible leads us to Christ Jesus, our savior by the grace of God and that is all we need to know for now.(1 Corinthians 13:12) Books cannot contain the infinite capabilities of God.(John 21:25) The “world” naturally tries to rationalize God into non-existence.(Romans 8:7), but we can reason in God’s favor in spite of controversy, if our motive is Christ centered.(Romans 8:9) Whether God allowed timeline discrepancy through imperfect biblical writers, human error in scientific dating method or both is moot. The point is God exists, and the Bible account of creation is true.(Romans 1:20) We should not exhaust our minds researching this subject.(Ecclesiastes 12:12) We are required to believe, it is our only hope for life everlasting!(John 11:25-26)

“Science tells us we are blobs of protoplasm. Psychology likens us to rats running through a maze. But who are we, and what does God expect of us? Greg discusses both what God does not expect and what he does expect from us.”
Matthew 25, 1 Corinthians 4, Hebrews 11

“Mortality has its way — we age, strength ebbs, self assurance fades, we sense how temporary this life is and begin to focus on eternity. God told Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.””

“Grace is totally unmerited pardon. It is forgiveness of our sins no matter what we have done — it can’t be earned in any way. But what is life like after that? How then should we live?”
Isaiah 40, Matthew 21, Titus 2

“Jesus changed water into wine. It was the best wine and it was saved for last. People have been trying to reverse the process and change wine into water ever since. Why is the story of this miracle in the Bible? What should we learn from it?”
John 2 New International Version (NIV) – “Jesus Changes Water Into Wine”

November 6, 2018

“Jesus came to save us from religion, the belief that if we work hard and long enough God will like us — that we must obtain salvation through our own efforts. Religion is one reason Christ died on the cross.”
“Galatians 3 New International Version (NIV)
Faith or Works of the Law
3 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.””(Bible excerpt)

“It usually starts with a sincere desire to please or appease God. But the result is a cult — a tight, “holy huddle” trying to keep sin on the outside and goodness on the inside. Such isolation leads to weird ideas.”

“We Are GIVEN The Victory!”

November 4, 2018

Keynote Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:50-58

“We are GIVEN not just any victory, but THE victory “through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57). Our victory is GIVEN by the grace of God, who graciously allows us to be part of his plan, but we are not THE plan – Jesus is THE plan”

“Are you passing on God’s grace? Or, have you accepted God’s grace and are you passing it on to others? Greg examines the parable of the laborers in the vineyard for its lessons about the grace of God.”
Matthew 20

“The Pale Horse – Legalistic Religion Produces Dead Men Walking”

November 1, 2018

“Greg uses the pale horse in this last program of our four part series, The Four Horsemen of Legalism, to show that legalism produces people who seem to have life but are dead-men-walking. In contrast he talks about the life giving grace God offers us.”
Revelation: 6
